This was full of Patterson's usual twists and turns. The plot never slowed and the crimes were Patterson worthy. Very enjoyable read.

While the Alex Cross series remains my favourite seris from Patterson, I think the Michael Bennett series takes second place.

Loved it!! I love a book that I can take to the beach on vacation and be entertained without thinking too hard. Love this series. Look forward to the next one.

You can't help but like Michael Bennett. You are engaged from the beginning and drawn in, not wanting to put the book down. I look forward to #5

Currently reading but I think I'm done. I have reached half way, chapter 42 out of I think 84 chapters. Eighty some chapters about a maniac trying to blow up the city. That's all you need to know. It's about a maniac who is a fan of sick people who have killed people in the past and is recreating mayhem. The first 3 books of the Michael Bennett series were really good. I am seriously dissatisfied that this books sucks. I'm a tough book critic so take it from me, don't waste your time. Read the first 3 and you'll be be more than satisfied. Patterson should have just called it quits after three because I don't know the other books following 3 can possibly be great. I'm done with Michael Bennett, I'm going for Alex Cross maybe those books are much more exciting

Typical Michael Bennett. Hunts down bad guys. Some relationship stuff thrown in. Been reading Patterson's books for years though, and still enjoy them!

Let me start by saying I like Michael Bennett. He’s a good guy, a great detective, and he cares. In Tick Tock, he’s pulled away from his vacation to deal with a bomb threat, and then the bodies start showing up. And if that’s not enough, he also has to deal with the local bullies picking on his kids, and make a decision about his attraction to his nanny Mary Catherine – especially when an old flame flies into town to work on the case. Phew!

But as much as I like Michael, I did not like Tick Tock, not least because I’d expected him to be better. Not at detecting – he holds his own on that front; but at matters of the heart. The whole romance angle left a sour tang, especially when Emily appeared.

Other than that, the story was well-told and the hunt definitely kept my interest, if only to find out who the heck Lawrence is, and his role in Tick Tock. The ending for the action was a bit ho-hum, the ending to the love triangle has possibilities. Give it a whirl if you’re a Patterson/Ledwidge fan – and come back and let me know what you thought.

The lack of plot depth (or any kind of depth for that matter) of this book ( my first Michael Benett thriller) is made up for by the fast pacing and great suspense. I finished this novel in one sitting last night ( that's what weekends are for, right?) and although I want blown away when I was done, it was a fun read ( which is why I'm giving it 4 stars). I believe that's owed in large part to Patterson's writing skills, which come across in this slightly irreverent narrating style, sprinkled with scattered pop culture references. All in all a good read.
