I read the first two books of this YA spy thriller series last year and enjoyed the international feel and pace of the story, so when I saw the third and final book mentioned I just couldn't resist. I was looking forward to another bout of country hopping and finding out how Anastasia's story would end... And End Of The Lie manages to deliver both. While I do have to say I enjoyed this last installment a tiny bit less than the previous two books, overall it was still a solid read. The pace took a little while to pick up and I have always had my struggles with the main characters, but the story is easy to follow and we still get our dose of international travel despite the slow start. And I just LOVE that not one, but two places we were able to visit during our Europe trip last year were mentioned! Seeing Krakow and Prague described brought back great memories and made me feel as if I were transported back to those places again. It shows that the author used personal travel experiences to describe the settings! This international feel of End Of The Lie is without doubt one of the strongest features of this spy thriller. Once the pace picks up, the plot goes fast as they are trying to end the whole situation before things spin even more out of control. There were cliches involved and I'm not sure about the credibility of some aspects, but I can't deny it was still an entertaining read. I could have done without the romance and the bitchiness, but overall the Anastasia Phoenix trilogy as a whole is an entertaining interntational spy thriller for fans of the genre.

WARNING: Possible spoilers! Please don’t read this summary if you haven’t read the first two books of this trilogy yet. I’ll keep the summary super short but it’s impossible to keep it completely spoiler-free…

Anastasia Phoenix and her friends thought everything would be better now everything was out in the open, but those thoughts turned out to be too good to be true... Lives are still in danger, and the only way to stop it all is to destroy Department D completely. This is easier said than done, because they have no idea where their parents are and how to end things completely. Will they be able to stop all this madness before it's too late?

I love a good international setting where it seems like reading a story comes with free travel. Add the fact that this story visits two places I've recently been able to explore and love myself, and it's easy to say that the international feel of End Of The Lie was a huge bonus for me. I still struggled with the main characters, the bitchiness and the romance (although I liked some of the romantic developments), but the writing reads like a train and once the pace picks up things get interesting. Fans of international YA spy thrillers will have a great time with this trilogy.

This is the final book in a trilogy and I really enjoyed reading it. It is a YA version of a spy thriller. Anastasia's parents had helped creating a world that is dangerous and deceptive and now it is up to her to do protect herself and her friends before things get out of hands once again. Things are never as they seem and it is becoming more and more difficult for her to keep up with everything going on around her. Now, even her friends seem to have turned against them. There are rumors that her parents aren't even dead and they faked their own deaths to escape thisdangerous world. But did they really leave their two daughters behind to deal with it? And will Anastasia be able to stop the damage before it is too late... only time will tell.
I think it was a great end to this trilogy and I enjoyed how well-paced and well-written it is.
P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley.

End of the Lie was the final book in the Anastasia Phoenix trilogy, and probably the best one too.

There was a lot of pain and angst, some fun moments, some love felt ones, a few heart breaking scenes. Overall, the perfect mixture for a YA book. A bonus? It also has the whole suspense thing going, making it even more enjoyable.

The reason I loved this book so much better is that there was a lot of character development in this one. In Anastasia, in Markus and even in Keira and Antonio. It was nice to see them realize exactly what they'd been doing all along.

And of course, I loved End of The Lie because, as the title suggests, this book was the end of the lie, of the suspense and the truth about Anastasia's parents was finally out in the open.

Overall, End of the Lie was a page-turner and the best in the trilogy.

Overall this was a fun series. Of course, completely unbelievable and a tad ridiculous, but fun. It is fiction so who cares how plausible. My main criticism of the series is probably the character of Anastasia Phoenix. I found her to be a little selfish and uncompromising. Her behavior towards Marcus's parents and brother compared with her behavior towards her own parents was really hypocritical. Because of that, I find one aspect of the ending of the series disappointing.

I enjoyed the characters of Charlotte, Julian, Marcus, and even Antonio. I was glad that my suspicions about a couple of these characters did not come to fruition.

This is a great series for young readers who want to delve into the world of international spies.

End of the Lie is the last book of the Anastasia Phoenix trilogy and I think it's a nice way to close an adventure. The book provides enough closure and development for its characters and it leaves the reader satisfied. Some scenes and dialogue can be cheesy and a bit cringe-worthy at some points but the action and the suspense keeps the reader going. The characters have grown so much through the trilogy and it's a good YA book, especially for those who like romance mixed along with spies and action-packed scenes. Although it was not my kind of book, End of the Lie is quite an enjoyable story.
