This one isn't my favourite in the series but I still loved it.
I wasn't a fan of Rex before but I am now.

You've met them both in previous books. Her in The Lying Hours (she's best friends with the heroine.) Him in The Coaching Hours (he is a side character with a little more screen time than most.) It was good to see him redeem himself. SPOILER ALERT: He was a major douchebag in that other book. This is a novella so it is shorter in length and the storyline moves faster than your typical novel. If you've read The Lying Hours, you get a sneak peek at the beginning of this book, so you might have some knowledge about what's going to happen. She is a bit of a wild card or a loose cannon. She has no fear in putting someone in their place. Most men are scared of her... probably the reason she can't seem to find a man worth keeping. She is also secretly insecure. His options have been limited since the scandal that took place in the previous book. He wants to settle down, but he is only back in town for a year or so. He also is just the man to take her on and put her in her place. This one is somewhat open-ended. While it ends on a good note, it ends rather abruptly, with no hint into the future. There is humor and a lot of sexual content (both the act of and talk of,) deeming it suitable for mature readers. It alternates between POVs.

I love Rex, especially after the Coaching Hours. He was so sweet to Anabelle. And I loved seeing him here with Lilly but...I didn't like Hannah at all. Maybe because I haven't read book 5 with her roommate. She just left a bad taste in my mouth. I usually love short stories, but this one didn't do it for me.

I love Sara Ney's How to Date a Douchebag series and was excited to see Rex and Hannah's story featured when it was featured in the Team Player 2 anthology last fall. It was so fun! Rex and Hannah were a hoot (I love how she has absolutely no filter) and I smiled the whole time I was reading this one. I loved how they met! Rex the Funcle (fun uncle) was adorkable. The Teaching Hours was definitely my favorite novella in the anthology and I am excited to see it released on its own.

Sara Ney is one of the few authors who can write college romance with a touch of angst mixed in with some comedy and brilliant one-liners. The How To Date A Douchebag series is a pleasure because I get all the books about all the boys. Even one that I considered to be one of the biggest douchebags, and he wasn't even a wrestler. I remember his douchniness the most from The Coaching Hours. But he redeemed himself in that story and is back with his tale, albeit a way too short story.

Rex meets Hannah, the girl with no filter, via the campus dating app. Much traded snark later they meet for dinner, and the rest is history. Like I said way too short. But it was snarky, sweet, and pretty darn satisfying. Rex is back to help out the wrestling team for a while, he's matured, and he's still the excellent friend he became in The Coaching Hours. Hannah runs everyone off, plain and simple. Her mouth engages before her brain and boom, insults fly. But once Hannah and Rex sit down, the attraction hits and an adorable relationship blooms.

I would have liked there to be more to this story. I feel like there is more. However, Rex is 24 now; maybe he's too old to be a douchebag any longer? Anyway, yay Rex!

So, I forgot I’d already read this as part of the Team Player 2: A Sports Anthology. But that’s okay, because I enjoyed it just as much this time as I did then. Obviously as short as this was it was very easy to get read in less than a day. But it was so sweet to once again get to see Rex get his own story. I know Rex was a PIA in the rest of the series, but in the end, I just couldn’t help but want him to get his own chance at love. Also love his term, “funcle”-fun uncle. How do I make a term like that for me being the fun auntie?

If you like this series or enjoy new adult sports romance stories, this is one you should pick up for a quick and sweet and steamy read!

Rex Gunderson!
The ultimate douchebag!
Finally we had his story!
I have to say i was pretty excited and nervous for his little story since for most of the series you know him as the bad guy but he redeemed himself in my eyes!
Hannah was funny and awkward and i loved seeing her again!
