First half, one star, second half, four. I almost didn’t finish, but I persevered and am so glad I did.

This book has no right to have “Filthy” in its title. Here I am thinking I’m getting a hot vampire who’s incredibly rich, because of course he is, and who’s also incredibly hot, and spice after spice. Why did I think this? Solely based in the title and the fact it’s a romance book. All I got was a regular rich vampire who’s boring as hell. Idk how others are even giving this a spice rating, there is no spice. There’s a few times we come close, but noooo of course we can’t do that, you’re a virgin! 🙄. I’m so mad at this book, what a waste of time.

Really enjoyed this - felt like a teen vampire romance with higher stakes and more spice! I can’t wait to start the next book!

Much better than expected! Was ready for just a fluffy vampire story to listen to in the background but it was much more enjoyable and had an interesting plot and enjoyable characters

Whiplash is the best way to describe the sensation of reading this book. The plot felt repetitive, with Thea and Julian continually experiencing serious relationship troubles caused by internal disagreements or external pressures then immediately moving past such issues with dismal amounts of communication or resolution, leaving the matter to fester into a larger problem that always returns at a later time. Further, Thea was described early on as having no sense of self-preservation, and that remained 100% correct to the end of the story. If the decisions she made during the novel are any indication of her decision-making skills before we knew her, it is by luck alone she has lived this long. Julian, who I initially really liked for his self-awareness and self-discipline, annoyed me by the end because he had so many opportunities to share information with Thea that would mitigate the many obstacles they faced as a couple, yet he just chose not to? He might be 900 years old, but he clearly never matured past 22. All of this, plus the feeling that this novel of over 350 pages could have likely been much shorter and conveyed the same message, zapped any interest I had in reading the rest of the series.

I’ve never read a vampire romance (other than twilight lol) and I loved it! The characters were amazing and I felt like i was the one in the book. Amazing writing!
