I hoped for a bit more gripping plot overall, but the ending caught me by surprise and left me emotional. I feel so bad for most characters.

Really enjoyed this; easy to read, no unnecessary padding, well-drawn character etc. I do concur with the reviewers who say nothing much happens but, strangely, I liked this. Even without much happening until the very end, Beckett manages to keep to one of the main 'rules' of writing - keep the action moving forwards.
