Okay I picked up this book at barnes and noble and didn't see the little as seen on lifetime banner until after I bought it. i knew then and there that it was going to be rough. I knew who the murderer was going to be the same chapter the character was introduced. I could predict the ending so clearly. The characters are really one dimensional and the writing style is pretty cheesy. This book took me three months to read. This book was also the reason I got into a reading slump. Don't reccomend.

Well this book was something, something good?, I'm not really sure about that, but it was enjoyable to read. I will not be reading the other books, but as a stand alone book, it is just okay

I liked the pacing of this book, we got to see a good portion of Brooke and Jake's tumultuous relationship before the murder took place. It was quite obvious who the murderer was but that wasn't the main focus of the book. It was nice that we got to see Brooke and Maddie as friends before they had their falling out, it made it seem more believable and not just there to further the plot. Overall i really liked this book, I don't have many negative things to say about it other than I'm not sure how realistic it is that Jake isn't quite 21 yet, but he lives alone in a penthouse, goes to fancy restaurants and goes on helicopter rides, but can still blend in with high school students. This is really the only negative I personally found with this book.

Brooke Emerson is the seemingly perfect girl, but inside she is completely lost. Ever since she sustained a head injury during a cheerleading stunt the previous year, she’s suffered from a disorder that causes her to fly into uncontrollable violent rages (IED).
As hard as she tries to keep it together, she finds herself in danger of jeopardizing her life.
It isn’t until she meets Jake, a handsome and charismatic stranger, that she feels like she’s found someone who not only understands her, but accepts her for who she is.
As tempting as it is to get swept up in the romance, she can’t help but feel like something in their relationship isn’t quite right.
When her best friend is brutally murdered, Brooke has no choice but to depend on her new love...especially because she's worried that she might be the killer.
My Rating - ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨/5
This book was recommended to me by a friend, and I liked it a lot! It was very different from the other books I've been reading lately, which was a unique change of pace.
This book was a quick and short read, and I was hooked from the beginning. The plot was interesting, but also very predictable- I knew almost exactly what the ending would look like from the beginning of the book. The real murder only happened around page 250 and then the hunt to find the killer happened faster than I would've liked. I loved how the author took the time to set up the characters but the book could have moved a bit slower to me. Nevertheless, I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who would enjoy a quick, thrilling murder mystery novel
