ACTUAL RATING 3.5/5 stars. Maybe my expectations were too high but I thought the ending was "just OK"...

My Thoughts:

1. I think the author does a great job at building up suspense throughout the book cause it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. But what annoyed me the most was after building up so much suspense the result felt anti-climatic and left me feeling stupid for getting my hopes up.

2. For some reason, I didn't like how the author added so many twists and elements on the angel-blood paranormalcy. I think it got a little out of hand when she introduced Asael... There were times where I even got a little confused about how the whole Heaven and Hell aspect worked out.

3. I'd say that the first 60% of the book was really awesome but the remaining 40% of the plot felt too predictable and cheesy.

4. The "love-triangle" ended how I thought it would :) and I'm glad that the author included an epilogue.

5. This was the first time I've finished an angel series and actually enjoyed it :D I didn't expect to like it as much but I'm glad I did. If I had to choose, I'd say book 1 was my favourite!

FANTASTIC! I knew the author was going to need to wrap things up in a way the reader would love and she certainly did! Thank goodness!

The only thing I would have added: I would have liked a little more action before the epilogue. I understand why she did it at that point, but I wanted something more as the climax before we flash forward nine years. That being said, I absolutely LOVE that she wrapped it all up with a nice bow, with no room for more novels about the characters from this one. As much as I love Wendy, Christian, Tucker, Jeffrey, and Angela, I don't want to read any novellas about them or their side of the story. I wouldn't be averse to a series about Web, but not for a long time.

Like I said, absolutely was completely satisfied with the ending. While I would have liked to hear a little more about what Christian is doing (he kinda gets screwed), I love where the series leaves off and would not change any of it.

The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is because I reserve five stars for books I wish to read over and over again. I can't say that this series was one of them, but it definitely ranks in my top series that I have read this year! It was also great that I started it after the whole trilogy was out, because the second book was pretty depressing, not going to lie.

There are only a few ways to end love triangles well and I am happy to say that Cynthia Hand made it happen in a very satisfying way! LOVED IT!

Aw, that was lovely. As with all love triangles, I feel bad for the loser, but I'm a happy camper. :)

This was definitely better than the second book, but was still missing the magic of the first. I liked the series, though, and would recommend it to fans of YA.

How is it possible to fall in love with a novel much less a trilogy? I was never bored for a moment. Even if it took me a while to read, I have a perfectly valid excuse: University-freaking-assignments.

The Plot
The past few years have held more surprises than part-angel Clara Gardner could ever have anticipated. Yet from the dizzying highs of first love, to the agonizing low of losing someone close to her, the one thing she can no longer deny is that she was never meant to live a normal life.

Since discovering the special role she plays among the other angel-bloods, Clara has been determined to protect Tucker Avery from the evil that follows her . . . even if it means breaking both their hearts. Leaving town seems like the best option, so she’s headed back to California - and so is Christian Prescott, the irresistible boy from the vision that started her on this journey in the first place.

As Clara makes her way in a world that is frighteningly new, she discovers that the fallen angel who attacked her is watching her every move. And he’s not the only one. . . . With the battle against the Black Wings looming, Clara knows she must finally fulfill her destiny. But it won’t come without sacrifices and betrayal.

In the riveting finale of the Unearthly series, Clara must decide her fate once and for all.

If there were any plot holes, I didn't notice them. I thought this was one of the most perfect plot lines I've ever read. From book one to this book three, I freaking loved it.

The Characters
I, sometimes, have a lot against characters that tend to want to save everyone and everything. It happened with Tris in the second Divergent novel, and it annoyed me rather than gained my sympathy/empathy. But Clara is beautiful. She really cares, and she really tries her hardest. She accepts she can't save anyone, but when she can, she tries, and that's why I love her character. In this final, she is as beautiful as she was in the first one, personality-wise, and more importantly, I love how she'd grown. I love how she tries. And I love how she's true to herself, as well as the fact she's nearly selfless-even though she acknowledges she can be selfish.
Christian I loved you in the end, especially when you made your choice, and you told Clara your feelings about that choice. If you hadn't said that or done things that way, I would have hated you, just as I've been hating you for three books. Because, honestly! I thought you were too 2D. But somehow Ms Hand turned the cards over and managed to gain a form of 'like' from me.
Tucker It's sad we don't see you much in this one, but I loved every minute you're present.
Angela I liked her more in this book. I liked what she was going through, and even if she has that sharp personality, I liked it, for some reason, much more in this book than any other!

Setting
Stanford, I forget which US state though... and Wyoming - more specifically, because Clara always seems to end up there - Tucker's barn, lol

Writing
Bloody hell, I think I've said it before, but Hand has the best writing, there's never a word wasted!

Overall
If you want a bloody brilliant Angel trilogy, go out, to the library, to the bookstore or go on line and order this one. There is no way in hell that you can miss out, because in my opinon, this is the best of them all. Religious or not, this is the best Angel series I've read out of several (including Fallen - blegh, Daughter of Smoke and Bone - not bad, Hush, Hush - if you're into hot stalkers, Meridian - an interesting take, and Mercy - I liked the concept, hated the last book but the ending was good).

This is the final book in the trilogy so don't spoil books one and two for yourself. I would read them if I were you. 'Unearthly' and 'Hallowed' are amazing.

A Spoiler Free Bit About The Book

Clara and Christian are of to Stanford with Angela to accompany her on her journey to her purpose. But Clara has bigger problems, like the Black Wing that keeps showing up. With the help of Christian, Clara sets out to find her brother, help Angela in her purpose and work out her own destiny. But can she learn to live with the fact that she'll never have a future with the thing she wants most - Tucker?

My Review

I think this will be a rather short review because I don't have anything to say that I haven't said before. Like 'Unearthly' and 'Hallowed' before it, 'Boundless' blew me away with how much I enjoyed it. I fell straight back in effortlessly even though it'd been six months since I read 'Hallowed'. I remembered who everyone was without much prompting at all, it was amazing!

I am so pleased that at last there's a final in a trilogy that hasn't dissapointed me in some way or another. 'Boundless' delivered everything I wanted and more. I cannot believe that Cynthia Hand doesn't have more fans! She's awesome!

The plot took turns I was expecting and needed and also took me places I'd never even thought I'd go and that was a gift. It was the perfect mix of surprise and acceptance as I strolled around the world with Clara and Christian.

While I'm on Christian and Clara, I must say how much I loved them. They were perfect. Faulted and real. And Clara's wit was just right. She made jokes that I would make, unlike other books where the characters are just too unbelievably funny. I loved how these angel-bloods felt human.

And there's not much else to say. I loved it all the way through. I couldn't put it down and I cried. What else can you ask from a reader?

I was really excited for this book because this has been an awesome series, and I couldn't wait to see how it would end! This book was incredible! There was never a slow spot, and it was just a great end! It took me a long time to read because I had a lot going on, and I really didn't want to finish this series!! I have to say I really liked the ending. I honestly didn't see it coming! It was really unique, and really gave the series something special that can't be recreated. It was a great book overall, from the characters to the plot, it was well-done and I am so sorry it's over!
