I really love this series. Something about a woman who has conversations with a cat about having a conversation with a cat just makes me smile. Nice cozy mystery with likable characters, magical cats (who are great characters), and two different murders. Even with the murders being in the background they are mentioned in every scene so they stay primary in the plot. The only thing that bugs me is how she is always one step ahead of the detective. They make a good couple. Can't wait to read the next one!

So this is probably my favorite of the series so far! I loved the two-murder mystery going into events from thirty years ago to modern day. I also loved the details about the true purpose of the knitting club. Again, I was on the fence after the first book, but the series just seems to get better for me the more I read.

Another delightful addition to the series. Loving Hercules and Owen and the way they poke their noses into everyone's business. Enjoyed the double mystery, but wish one had a happier ending. Liking how the romance is coming along. Looking forward to book 4.

Back to Maryville Heights and another dead body or two. Another fun entry in the series.

I picked up the first 3 books in this series at a thrift shop in Colonial Williamsburg when an ice-storm shut down the tourist attractions. Good choice, especially since it was based solely on the cats on the front.

I have enjoyed this series and the characters in this little town and, of course, Owen and Hercules. There was enough growth in several of the characters in this installment that if it were the last in the series I would not feel cheated (although if there are others, I will read them happily). This book has two different mysteries connected to the torrential spring rains afflicting Mayville Heights. An old body is unearthed at Wisteria Hill and a fresh one turns up in the basement of the artist co-op store. I had a couple guesses as to who did what, because of the limited cast of characters and I was right on one count and completely wrong on the other. I was proud of Kathleen's growth and the shift in her attitude toward Marcus and in Marcus' towards her. I enjoyed the antics of the kitty detectives and some of the stories about their moments of shame, from boots to caterpillars.

This book is also going to Furball, since I have shared the first two books in the series with her -- we share a love of cozy mysteries and kitties.
