another fun book from Clive Cussler about Kurt Austin and his best Friend Joe Z as they traipse around North Africa trying to stop another madman.

I listened to this on audiobook, and enjoyed it. I like suspense novels about possible history-altering archaeology, so this was good company for a few hours of drive time this week.

First Clive Cussler novel and I'm hooked! This story has just the right amount of history, suspense, and adventure. You are not required to think hard but you will be engaged.

If you have read one of the other dozen NUMA books you know exactly what to expect. If you haven't, think an Indiana Jones novel as it might have been written by John D. McDonald and you won't go far wrong, His heroes are all tanned and virile, his heroines are all highly educated, athletic and built like Barbie. The sex is all PG. His villains are very bad--think James Bond. There is always a passing nod to historical and scientific fad, treated the way in the same slapdash manner as a Bond novel or an Indiana Jones novel would treat them.

When I chose to pick this book up after seating on my shelf for years, I believed I was picking up a mystery novel that centered around an Acient Egyptain myth. While in the broad scope of the story this is true, in the fine details and actions it was at best a secondary plot point. Now while that disappointed me little bit I found the over-all story fast paced, action packed, and easy to read. Which made it overall and engaging and enjoyable read. While I enjoied this individual story I will probably not be picking up any other books in this series or by this author again
