To be clear, this title even being published is an important thing. Hugely important.

The execution? Lacking. And seriously. Stilted dialogue, chaotic pacing, and generally a thorough lack of empathy when reading it. There is simply no time to forge a connection or to urge the inevitable to happen. Fairly one-dimensional and no patience in conveying the narrative whatsoever.

For a finite/limited series, there was just too much crammed in for it to stick.

Publisher pressure may have had an impact - evidenced in the series' cancellation and remarks about readership and the reception of newfound diversity in Marvel titles at the time.

This book started off as what felt like a teenage romance between two grown women, but as the love between the two warriors matured, the story got better. Ultimately a story about admitting that you are in love and balancing your life with love, World of Wakanda is a fun, pulpy read.

This is a great comic for people who like the Black Panther mythos.

This was a fun read, pretty cool that Marvel hired Roxanne gay to write in this world.

Such an interesting premise, but it wasn't as well done as I wanted it to be. I don't read superhero comics so I'm not sure what to expect. I read this for the relationship between Ayo and Aneka and it warmed my heart. But... I found Aneka's reasons to push Ayo away to be quite strange and unconvincing. However, I liked the story of that arc a lot! The Dora Milaje developing their own sense of justice and protecting the women of Wakanda! Super cool!

I didn't find the White Tiger single issue to be that compelling and I wish we could learn more about Zenzi. I loved that (too) short addition in the 5th issue.

the first chapter of this was highkey hilarious because ayo and aneka were both hella dumb in a way that is usually reserved for male characters

(why do i keep tugging her pigtails? why do the wrong words always come out of my mouth around her? WHY IS SHE SO HOT, @GOD, HELP ME)

the rest was more classic high romance which i approved of but ngl, i had the most fun with the early romcom ridiculousness
