I was interested to see the two female main characters and how their loves are similar and different. The premise sounded exciting. However, I think this book didn't fully commit to one thing. In a spy novel I want excitement, suspense, and I didn't feel like I got any of that with this book. The story was interesting but fell flat - maybe the pacing was just off?

I had fun with it! Not my favorite book of all time, but I’m honestly a little confused by some of the super negative reviews. I really wish half stars were an option because a three feels low but a four feels high for how I feel about this book

Ahhh! It has a cover!

I was fortunate enough to beta-read an early manuscript for this and I'm so excited to read the finished book! It's a page-turning corporate thriller with some very complex and fascinating protagonists. Read this if you don't mind reading about unlikable people

This book is entertaining, has an interesting story line but just fell a little flat for me. This is really a plot driven story. The characters are very uninteresting. I wished for characters that I cared more about. The place dropping was a little pretentious too but I guess that’s Silicon Valley startup culture for you.

One other complaint I had about this and many other Asian American authors is I don’t like the characterization of Asian people. I feel like it can cause people to have racist views against Asians if you say Asian immigrants are pushy and uneducated. (By pushy I am thinking of the part where the author is describing Asian grandmothers at 99 Ranch.) Using this characterization just perpetuates the racist stereotypes. I wish there was a greater variety of Asian characters which would make them more individual characters than a caricature.

Things I liked:
1. The realistic characters
2. The satirical tone
3. The ridiculous premise

Things I didn't like:
1. The pacing
2. Some of the POVs were unnecessary.
3. Ultimately, a forgettable story.

It was fine, kind of ended on a blah note.
