These books were a real guilty pleasure.
I read them all, could not get enough, that doesn't mean they are good.
Some parts are, and most parts are just ... he's a bird right?
This series definitely got to the point where it was time to turn in the towel.

Zoeys Seele ist Zersplittert und sie wandert nun in der Anderswelt ziellos herum. Stark ist am Ende und will alles versuchen, um Zoey zurückzuholen. Stevie Rae muss ebenfalls wichtige Entscheidungen treffen.
*Wie kam das Buch zu mir*
Ich habe mir das Buch bei ReBuy gebraucht für 9,49€ gekauft, da mir die Reihe ganz gut gefällt und ich wissen wollte wie es weiter geht.
*Aufmachung/Qualität*
Der Schutzumschlag ist sehr schön gestaltet und passt gut zum Inhalt des Buches. Wie bei den anderen Umschlägen der Reihe ist auch hier wieder ein Poster in der Innenseite. Das finde ich sehr originell. Das Buch an sich finde ich ebenfalls sehr schön gestaltet. Es ist schlicht schwarz, aber die Schrift ist herrlich orange und die Kapitel sind wieder mit Ornamenten verziert. Besonders gut gefällt mir, dass sich die ganze Reihe gut im Regal macht, da alle Bücher im gleichen Stil gehalten sind.
Leider gibt es kein Lesebändchen.
*Meinung:*
Ich werde dieses Mal nicht allzu viel schreiben, da man einfach nur Spoilern würde, für die Leute die die Vorgängerbände nicht gelesen haben. Ich gehe also davon aus das derjenige, der hier weiter liest, den 6. Band schon gelesen hat und schreibe nur was sich Stiltechnisch geändert oder nicht geändert hat.
Die Grundidee/Grundhandlung der gesamten Reihe ist der Hauptgrund warum ich überhaupt dieser Buchreihe lese. Ich finde die ganze Geschichte um Kalona, Neferet, Rephaim, die Elemente, Nyx, die Vampire... sehr originell und kann ehrlich gesagt nicht verstehen warum manche dies als 08/15 bezeichnen. Ich persönlich finde die Handlung, die sich über die ganzen Bände zieht äußerst interessant und obwohl ich den Schreibstil sehr, sehr schlecht finde, bleibe ich auf Grund der Handlung am Ball.
Der Schreibstil gefällt mir leider weiterhin nicht. Für mich ist das ganze extrem übertrieben und gewollt komisch. Ich arbeite mit Jugendlichen, aber das hier ist für mich einfach nur überspitzt. Es gibt immer wieder Phasen in denen ich einfach aufhören möchte zu lesen, aber durch die Grundhandlung werde ich davon abgehalten. Besonders die Stellen mit Zoeys Freunden finde ich fast schon nervtötend und leider werden diese durch unnützes Gehabe und Gefasel auch noch in die Länge gezogen. Lediglich die Stellen in denen es um Erwachsene geht, finde ich gut geschrieben.
Außerdem fällt mir auf, dass die Reihe mit jedem Band theatralischer und spiritueller wird.
Die Spannung ist ein Pluspunkt dieses Bandes. Ich fand es durchweg moderat spannend, also perfekt für mich. Die Handlungsstränge um Zoey und Stevie Rae werden stetig vorangetrieben und animieren einen zum Weiterlesen.
Emotionen kommen für mich leider nicht so gut rüber. Die Charaktere reagieren meist oberflächlich und geziert. Da ich nicht mehr zur direkten Zielgruppe gehöre, finde ich das eher befremdlich, kann es aber gut überlesen, wenn es sich nicht über Seiten hinwegzieht.
Es kommen dieses Mal keine neuen Charaktere dazu. Allerdings entwickelt sich Rephaim weiter und er hat sich zu meiner Lieblingsfigur entwickelt. Ich finde die Handlung um ihn und Stevie Rae bereits weit interessanter als Zoey. Unstimmigkeiten gab es bei den Charakteren leider auch wieder. Die Entwicklung im Dallas beispielsweise war unlogisch und viel zu abrupt. Seine Reaktionen wurden in keinster Weise verständlich erklärt. Schade.
Das Ende war dieses Mal recht gut abgerundet. Es ist zwar offen, aber kein extremer Cliffhanger.

Ich glaube nicht, dass ich hier noch eine Empfehlung aussprechen muss. Jeder der bis Band 6 gelesen hat, wird selbst entscheiden können ob er weiter liest. Ich habe es nicht bereut, auch wenn die Reihe stellenweise sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig ist.

Dieser Band hat mir von den bisherigen Bänden am besten gefallen. Die Spannung war perfekt für mich und die Handlung wurde stetig vorangetrieben. Leider wirkten viele Passagen zu theatralisch auf mich und wenige Stellen auch zu spirituell für meinen Geschmack. Trotzdem habe ich es nicht bereut und werde die Reihe weiter verfolgen.

Burned, the seventh book in the House of Night series, lived up to expectations.
I always have this impression that House of Night books should be combined (so instead of being on book seven, we’d be around book 4 now). The last book, Tempted, wasn’t complete enough of a story for me. I wanted Burned to give me closure and move things forward, and the book did those things.
The authors switched POV much more in this novel, which turned out to be refreshing. There is more tension in Burned than with Tempted’s “hurry up and wait” vibe.
Burned keeps your attention, like most House of Night books, and makes you care about the characters. I’m definitely awaiting book 8.

This was a dramatic improvement from the previous books in this series. I enjoyed having a break from Zoey's perspective and getting to experience other characters. That being said, the god-awful stereotyping, slut shaming, and poor attempts at teen banter continues. At this point I am in too deep to mark this series as a DNF and I feel obligated to finish it.

So this book is definitely up to the same standard as the first books in this series but definitely not as bad as Tempted that was more like filler than an actual book and then after a horrible filler story it left off with a serious cliffhanger. Not the best book...but this one kicks it up a notch and I am happy to see everyone working hard to get to a resolution toward the end of the book. I do not like the continued creepy visions of this and that and the like teasing that the author is doing, I mean, I know that teasing is part of a good story but this is starting to get ridiculous.
I enjoy the characters to an extent. I am starting to not feel the dialogue of the characters are bit, they sound to young in some parts but too old in others and it is messing me all up. Does any teen say bull-poopie? EVER? I almost closed the book and left it right there.
Other than the above, I really heart Stark and I am just to invested in this series to give up on it so...next up with be Awakened and I am hoping it is good.

Review: This is by far my favorite book of the series so far. I do not want to give the plot or the story away so I am going to be as vague as possible in my review.
Things I loved: More Stevie Ray and Aphrodite! In fact, I would almost say this book was their book. As they are my two favorite characters in the series it made this book that more enjoyable. I loved how PC flushed these two characters out by both growing them as individuals and having them work together more. I think in the series in general, these are the two that have grown the most and made the most of the changes in their lives. They both still have annoying qualities that I would cover a little later. Less Z, which I know is supposed to be the heroin of the series but honestly her character has never really caught on with me. In fact, I find myself loving the series in spite of her and her boy issues. Though, the end gave me hope that in the next book we might see Z developed more and on the same level as A and SR.
Things I didn't love so much: The way the kids talk. I understand that slang and such is used in everyday teenage life. So many of their interactions are with adults though and they still speak like young teenagers. I know plenty of 15 to 18 young adults that speak clearly when talking to adults. I think the slang is just a bit over-done through out the whole series. This is especially true with Aphrodite. Yes I realize she is a spoiled brat, so the world is her oyster. She is however whip smart and I believe would use language appropriate to whom she was speaking. Even if she was telling them off, she would want to get her point across in a precise manner.
Overall, this was a truly enjoyable addition to the series. The story moved along in a well-paced manner without straying to far from the overall arc. I am looking forward to the next book and can't wait to see what happens in the lives of these characters.

I have enjoyed all of this series, but this book I so far have like the least. Not nearly as entertaining as the previous books.
