I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I saw a lot of negative reviews that probably lowered my expectations, but I hope that doesn't discourage anyone from reading this book.

This is mainly set in the past (book 1). However, there are a few chapters set in the present that move the book forward. All that said, the final chapter is where most of the forward-moving plot is. That final chapter packed a punch!! I wish there was just a bit more time spent on the "now" and not all the good stuff rushed to the last few pages.

I have a love/hate relationship with cliffhangers... I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!! But in true JLA fashion, we have to wait for the next book.

This shouldn't have been a part of the main series. It's literally just Cas talking about the first book. Whole waste of time.

This is basically Cas's POV for the first part of the series. It's nice to have, but the story doesn't progress in the meantime, it feels like stalling.

It is a book from Casteel’s POV. It start right after the War of Two Queens. They save Iris and poppy goes in to her sleep till she finishes her culling. Nektas suggested them to keep talking to her and then start the book where Casteel begins to talk about the first time they met. Plot wise the story didn’t go anywhere. It was good book but a lot of repetitive information. She could have included more information about Atlanta or Casteel’s bloodline and his powers but all it had was pretty much same as FBAA.

This book made me realise that I liked the first book in the series the best. Revisiting the story was nice,  but I would have liked more plot advancement.

This was literally painful to get through, it was the EXACT same book as blood and ash just in Cassian’s perspective. The only new information you get is in the last 10 pages. I wouldn’t waste your time unless you want to reread the same book again.
