3⭐️ Friends-Enemies-Lovers

This was… not what I was expecting. It wasn’t bad, but I expected… more, I guess?? Cam and Rafe are a cute couple but I just didn’t feel their connection like I did with the others in the previous books. Sometimes I felt like they were perfect together, and others I felt their differences were too much, but they find a compromise so I guess it works! This was a fun and light hearted read, like most of the rest of the series!

Overall, this was an amazing series!

I may have started out on the fence about Rafe and Cam, but their hilarious bickering and chemistry won me over. When I first started their story, I was really confused about Rafe and Cam's relationship: were they friends? enemies? friends who drifted apart? friends who were secretly in love? For quite a while, it was hard for me to tell if their bickering was playful or genuine. I think if I'd remembered more details about the previous books in this series it would have made more sense, but without that context I had no choice but to keep reading until I figured it out. To be fair, Cam and Rafe's history was a lot more complicated than others, and I don't think either man fully understood why they drifted apart over the years. I thought the intermittent flashbacks were really helpful in getting to know Cam and Rafe better, and they did answer a lot of my initial questions.

The present day storyline was much more emotional than I expected, and I can't imagine how scary it must have been for Rafe to question his sexuality while going through a breakup. It was wonderful to watch as he learned more about himself and came to accept his preferences, and Cam's support through it all made it clear how important their friendship was to him. When their relationship took a decidedly non-platonic turn, I was fully on-board. The natural connection Rafe and Cam had, the way they were so comfortable and relaxed around each other had me convinced that their bond was something special. Sure, their romance may not have played out like a "traditional" couple's, but that didn't make me any less invested in their happily-ever-after. Seeing Cam and Rafe tackle changing boundaries, nosy friends and family, and self-discovery without falling apart convinced me that they were willing to put in the effort to keep their relationship strong.

**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

We finally see what happened in Rafe's mind after his little explosion! There was a lot of self-exploration for Rafe as he navigated a relationship with Cam. This was a sweet romance between these two child-hood friends.

I absolutely loved Rafe and Cam so much. Cam is so perfect for Rafe. Being the jokester of the relationship, there will never be a dull moment between the two of them.

As long as they fought for and the banter was so great. I died when Cam called the gnome Casagnoma. He pretty much told Rafe it was him. And oh man, the forks escapade was priceless too.

I loved how Cam was able to help Rafe figure out why he never could be intimate with his ex and truly love it. The steamy scenes with Rafe and Cam were absolutely perfect.

I loved it when Rafe finally claimed Cam when he bid on him at the auction and went way overboard but he wasn’t about to let anyone take him on a date.

I’m so glad that Rafe finally had the talk with his mother because it was well needed. She just wanted him to be happy and that’s all that mattered to her.

I wanted more from these two. Out of all of the books, I think out of all the books, these two were my absolute favorite.

A perfect ending to this fun series of friends turned lovers. Cam and Rafe are lifelong friends, with a few snags along the way. Cam is like a grown up child who is hilarious in his attempts to gain Rafe's attention. Rafe is struggling with why his life feels so ordered and boring. Together they go on a journey of self discovery that ultimately leads to forever love
