A disappointing 3 stars. I felt like this book had so much promise and I enjoyed the first half, but then the plot began to feel cheap and designed for shock value that really lessened the emotional potential of the story. Listened to this as an audiobook and REALLY enjoyed the narration, just wish the story was a bit better executed.

A heartbreaking and gorgeous ode to individuality that persists despite the perils of bias and fear. I found this book to be riveting.

a beautifully written reflection from multiple perspectives and timelines about the death of Vivek Oji. a story about transness, queerness, community, and family.
hard to review, but content warnings might be good to check on this one.
