Lovely. And not what I expected from the writer of [b:Freshwater|35412372|Freshwater|Akwaeke Emezi|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1500884500l/35412372._SY75_.jpg|56785192]. She is definitely a writer to watch.

harrow account of an unconventional’s child’s life in a traditional nigerian village. this book tells the touching story of the struggle to grow up “different” in a conservative environment. the author has a way w words, very poetic and moving. although at times a bit hard to follow, would definitely recommend!!
