4.5 stars. This is one of those books that's impeccably written yet absolutely fucked and I need to bleach my brain to recover from it.
The only reason it doesn't get that extra 0.5 stars is not because I'm traumatised, but because I needed Karin Slaughter to give these gals more justice. This is the second book I've read from her now and both of them have skimped on the just desserts. Show me these trash ass men getting flayed alive by the legal system, please and thank you.

I mean, this is just a really long and intricately plotted SVU episode. That’s not a bad thing. I couldn’t put it down. Read it in less than a day.
