I enjoyed this book. The characters were just as good as the first book. The story was good, but not as good as crimson cranes. You should read this book.

I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first in the series. The characters were still fun, but I felt like the plot wasn’t as strong. I had a difficult time understanding what was happening, and why, at times. Honestly, it felt like a sequel for the sake of a sequel.

3.5/5. I think I would have enjoyed the book more if I had read it back to back with the first one. I wasn't as engaged with book two (partially due to library waits).

I wasn’t attached to this book as I was to the first but Elizabeth Lim is as always a great story teller. Her story’s are always a rollercoaster and beautifully written.
