One of the most powerful endings to a book I have ever read. Oscar Wilde was a genius.

Wow. This book is such a beautiful piece of art, I don’t even know what to say about it without spoiling it. Like the language, the character/world building is really well done. I didn’t expect that ending though because I thought there might have been more to say but given the circumstances I understand Dorian’s decision.

Except for the dreaded chapter XI, this was a really nice read! Henry is on thin ice, but I did love all the characters and how they interacted.  The idea of a double-life and just the context that surrounds this book makes it well worth it.

I find endings to be quite disapointing, especially when I can figure out what will happen, but this was done so well that I did not even care that it was predictable. Oscar Wilde writes such beautiful prose, I’m almost shocked about the fact that I have not read this earlier.

se em determinado momento esse livro me pegou de surpresa, não imagino o quão impactante foi na época! algumas pontas ficaram soltas mas mesmo com o final esperado, me agradou. eu amei, fico feliz de ter o físico desse clássico.

A fascinating read! The quotes and the history behind this drew me in, but I found the story interesting and entertaining with plot twists making me gasp. (Yes somehow managed to never get spoilt this book)

Thinking I might have to look at reading more classics
