The only immediate words that come to mind after reading this: What the actual fuck.

Spoiler I went into the book expecting a creepy story about a ghost hunting group and one of their locations. I was expecting them to investigate the place and get some actual evidence of a ghost haunting. What I got was that and then some.

Maybe the 5 stars are because this book has really put me at a loss for words, or because it was really good and it deserved it. Regardless, I am stunned.

I was genuinely scared reading the 2nd half of this book. I also really enjoyed the ending

This was a fun read that I admit to struggling a bit with at times (the science talk went over my head, what's new), however on the whole I really enjoyed this. I (mostly) liked all the characters and liked how contained the story felt - the focus on the core 5 was really well done. Also this was really creepy. Made you think in that existential dread kind of way. The scene describing what happened on the first night they were in the house gave me the heebie jeebies. Definitely recommend to horror readers who like a little bit of science thrown into the mix!
