I kept passing this book up every time I saw it on the shelves. I was judging it by its cover, as we all know you're not supposed to do. Eventually, I was desperate for something to read that wasn't a textbook or the continuing education for work I've been stuck with for months and just happened to stop in the book aisle while at Target shopping and dropped it into my cart. I'm glad I did. I was hooked within the first few pages and I honestly didn't see the end coming as soon as I started, which was nice. I look forward to reading the next book.

I can see how this will become a very popular book, especially among teenagers and adults a like. It captivated me from the beginning and was easy to follow along. Although I do feel the author has taken a lesson or two from JK Rowlings and Harry Potter and even the Twilight Saga. We go into another world that not everyone (aka only the outcasts) knows about/can access. I really enjoyed this book and could definitely see it being read for a book club!

It was a really interesting book to read. The pictures in the book were a nice touch and gave it more authenticity which I liked. Overall I enjoyed reading this book.

Finally after promising myself I would pick up this book series for years, I did it. I do not regret it. This book surprised me in many ways and the pictures were one such surprise but I l thoroughly enjoyed this book. If your a fan of magic stories then I would recommend this.

I picked this up based on the title and the cover photo without knowing anything about the genre, plot, etc... I'm not really into this sort of fantasy time-travel thing at all, but I loved the author's use of found photos to drive/enhance the story! The plot itself and the characters were pretty much "meh" in my opinion, though.

I've always loved fiction stories like this, about magic places, people with "super"-powers, able to do incredible things, peculiar things, something that ordinary people can't, even though they seemed ordinary, like you and me (some of them). When I first started reading this book I think I was expecting a lot more, maybe because as I grew up I became more demanding and needed more than what I needed as a child to stay fascinated about this subject... However I think that this opinion isn't permanent, after all this is the first book of the trilogy, introducing us the characters, explaining the story and how the things started.... I think that the best is yet to come with the other books
