This was cute! It was a bit strange because of the…. Balance of cutesy and lovey vs. sexy and erotic…. It’s felt like it wanted to be both but then it all felt rushed? There weren’t enough scenes describing WHY they fell in love (in my opinion) and although I loved that she is a doctor, I love the podcast concept, I love the disability rep, I loved the HEA, I loved the emotionally mature man comment she made, I loved that the cheater had grown too, and I loved the consent talk and all the bondage deliciousness. I really feel like this book had all the right bits but it was too short. That really my biggest flaw with this book. That if it had been longer everything could’ve been expanded on more and therefore more fleshed out. But I still enjoyed it.

4 (very generous) stars for this one!

Obviously, my rating suggests that I enjoyed this book a lot. BUT I think that is mostly because I read this via audio. I think I wouldn't have enjoyed this the way I did if it weren't for the talented narrators who brought this story to life.

To be fair, up until the major conflict I was thinking that the story deserves a solid 4. For me, it delivered the right amount of sweetness and steam. However, when the climax hit, my story rating went down to a 3. The conflict was reasonable but it also came out of nowhere (I'm hoping I'm making sense here since I don't want to sound spoilery). I guess as a reader, I was looking for more depth in conflict and I was, unfortunately, let down.

As for our main characters, I personally believe they delivered in terms of chemistry. I loved seeing our heroine Frankie owning who she is and came off as a strong and inspirational woman. I loved how our hero Jay looked past Frankie's disability and saw her for the amazing woman that she is.  But to be honest though, despite how sweet his actions were, Jay felt a little lacking to me. I think he could have used a bit more depth and character growth as our hero

Overall, I really liked this first installment. I will definitely be picking up the next books in the series and checking out some more of this author's works!

Is everybody saying the cover of this book???
Open representation of physical disability, not just as a side character, not just as a plot device,  not just as a mention in a sideline.
But on the friggin cover!!
Was this the main reason I read this book, and more of Evie Mitchell’s writing. Yes!
Am I glad I did? Yes!
This is an emotionally intelligent romance book.
Following Dr Frankie (yes that’s right, she’s a damn doctor of sexology) who runs with all access podcast about sexuality, sexual desire, communication and access to all things sex.
She needs a little help in the discussion of ropes and kink. So goes to her local source for all things tied, Jay.
A guy she used to go to school with. What follows is an instant attraction, but Jay doesn’t do relationships, and Frankie doesn’t do flings.
They start explore the boundaries of a relationship, emotional, physical and sexual.
What follows is an intelligent look at trust and moving on from bad experiences.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Being physically disabled myself, I could relate to some of the conversations between Frankie and Jay. Concerning attitudes and etiquette of sex.
Knowing your worth, I’m not being used.

Evie Mitchell has written a fully rounded and extremely enjoyable book.
