This book is straightforward and totally predictable....except that it's not. The plot is immersive and the writing is crisp. As a reader, I felt incredible empathy for Ender and connected with everything he felt. The book also made me want to play puzzle games. heh.

Aside from the save-the-world plot line, I found the undertow of geopolitical strife fascinating. Through Val and Peter, Card predicted the use of pseudonyms to influence public opinion. And he recognized that existential threats don't shutter old rivalries.

Revisited Ender's Game for the second time in audio format and holds up to it's place in the definitive all time science fiction classic.

My boyfriend bought me this for Christmas. I thought it was going to be terrible. I finished it in one day. Read it.

Orson Scott Card is a deeply shitty person who writes frustratingly excellent stories. If you can read his works without contributing to his welfare, I recommend doing so.

Wasn't a fan, thought I'd like it based on genre but it wasn't a great read for me.
