Well I wanted to give this book 5 stars but there were a few things that I disliked but 95% of the book was amazing! I'm already started book 2!!

I liked the characters, but didn't really connect with the storyline and "Significant" aspect. I did like it enough to continue and hopefully the books will be better for me as the series continues. Some of my favorites series don't really hook me until the second book, so I'm still optimistic.
Audio: I'm not a huge fan of accents but I really loved this narrator! I thought she really captured Maggie's voice.

Synopsis
Maggie is a seventeen year old girl who's had a bad year. Her mom left, her dad is depressed, she's graduating, barely, and her boyfriend of almost three years dumped her for a college football scholarship. Lately she thinks life is all about hanging on by a thread and is gripping tight with everything she has.
Then she meets Caleb.
She saves his life and instantly knows there's something about him that's intriguing but she is supposed to be on her way to a date with his cousin. But things change when they touch, sparks ignite. Literally. They imprint with each other and she sees their future life together flash before her eyes. She learns that not only is she his soul mate, and can feel his heartbeat in her chest, but there is a whole other world of people with gifts and abilities that she never knew existed. She herself is experiencing supernatural changes unlike anything she's ever felt before and she needs the touch of his skin to survive. Now, not only has her dad come out of his depression to be a father again, and a pain as well, but Caleb's enemies know he's imprinted and are after Maggie to stop them both from gaining their abilities and take her from him. Can Caleb save her or will they be forced to live without each other after just finding one another?
There are few stories out there that can drag me into the characters world this easy. Significance is a four book series.
This book was a sweet romance with a paranormal twist. What I loved about this is that the paranormal is almost like a subplot compared to the romance. It's there and you notice it, but its not a shove in your face paranormal compared to other books out there.
I, being a lover of cliches and romance, love the instant love. Usually a lot of people don't like this fact based on it being non realistic but since this is paranormal and the circumstances are different, it makes sense.
Caleb- The definition of book boyfriend. I actually became utterly jealous over Maggie-a fictional character!- because she got Caleb. He's the sweetest, sexiest character I've read. Understanding, amusing and completely head over heels in love with Maggie! He has hopes and dreams, fears and insecurities just like the rest of us and I like how he doesn't portray the norm for a guy.
The Jacobson's- Best family I've read about. I love Grandma! She's hilarious and witty. Caleb's parents are amazing and sweet, always there to help when Caleb needs it. They are all such a loving family, you can't help but smile.
The first kissing scene- You know how the first kiss goes. I don't even need to explain how amazing this scene was, especially if you have read this series or the Collide series by Shelly...

A GREAT romance, a beautiful love story, a PERFECT male protagonist I'm completely in love with this book and Caleb!
Ok first thing first let's talk about the story, Maggie is a 17 years old living with a depressed father, her mother abandoned her and her boyfriend broke up with her a year ago. She's not looking forward to the future and feel responsible toward her depressed father. On her way to a party she meets Caleb and something special happened to both of them, they are soul mate and "imprinted" each other. And here begins her incredible adventure, the discovery of supernatural beings and a new world.
Caleb is to die for, I mean the guy is perfect and it was so nice to see someone care so much about Maggie.
Maggie on the other hand was a bit annoying at times but her love for Caleb is undeniable.
I felt sorry for Kyle (the other male interest) he had absolutely no chance to show his love to Maggie but it was still interesting to see Maggie's reaction around him.
I liked Maggie's father as well as her brother, they where both very protective about her and caring, what a sweet family!
I adore this book, I loved it so much that as soon as I finished Significance I attacked Accordance. This book is definitely going to my favorite shelf! Caleb I love you!

I originally read Significance in December 2011 and fell in love with the story line. Shelly Crane provides the reader with a new, unique take on the paranormal world that has me wanting more.
Let's start with the main characters. Maggie isn't your average seventeen year old girl. She graduated high school early after the worst year of her life; her mother left and her dad has abandoned all responsibility since. She is smart, caring, responsible, and a little naive. It's only by chance that she meets Caleb at a stoplight where he almost gets killed. Caleb is gorgeous, charming, and sweet. He is one of only two guys Maggie has ever been attracted to and no longer does she want to go on her date with his cousin Kyle, especially after the sparks.
I think this is one of only a few books where the insta-love concept works. Caleb is a supernatural being called an Ace. Being an Ace means that there is only one person out there for him, his soul mate. When Caleb and Maggie finally touch, sparks fly. They are the perfect match for each other. A number of young adult books I've read these days try to carry out this concept and I almost always find a flaw in each of the relationships. With Significance, we learn early on that there is a reason for them being head over heels for each other so quickly, it is expected.
The thing I like most about this book is that it is original. I've never read a paranormal book that has this idea of soul mates. Granted Twilight has imprints, but this is nothing like the idea behind Stephenie Meyer's werewolves. It is more like a recognition of the other person. I also like that Maggie isn't whiny. She doesn't sulk over her mom leaving, shes mad at her mom, but not whining about it. She made the best of her situation.
I really enjoyed this book and I don't have much bad to say about it. There are times when Maggie is just explaining things that gets a little old, but it isn't overwhelming to the point it is an annoying quality to the book.
Overall, this is a great addition to any paranormal lovers library. I look forward to reading and reviewing Accordance and Defiance.

He visto algo en ti que no podía vivir sin él. Yo te elegí, dentro de mí, y tu me elegiste. No es de un solo lado, sólo funciona cuando ambas personas eligen al otro. Eres perfecta para mí en todos los sentidos.
Puedo apostar que muchas personas pensaran que la frase es increíblemente cursi. Lo se. Yo también lo pensé. Pero si leyeran este libro sabrían de que se trata y harían una fiesta criticándolo como yo lo estoy ahora.
Yo no se ustedes, pero yo leí la sinopsis de este libro y no entendí nada. Sabia que era fantasía, espera algo como super romántico cursi, y de alguna rara manera esto lo es. Solo miren la portada, están claros que tiene que ser romántico si tiene una portada así. Pero...
MALDITA SEA, ESTO NO ME LO ESPERABA
No quiero hablar mucho de la trama porque si no escribiré todos los spoilers posibles. Y quiero que las personas queden tan sorprendidas como yo cuando lo leí.
Maggie es una chica de 17 años recién graduada y su vida básicamente apesta. Su novio de tres años la boto tres días despues que su mama los dejara a ella y a su papa, desde entonces el es como un zombie. Y su ultimo año fue pésimo. Entonces después de su graduación ella salva la vida de un extraño, Caleb. Sienten esta extraña atracción entre ellos. Pero se supone que ella iba en camino a una cita con Kyle, quien resulta ser primo de Caleb, y cuando se tocan, literalmente, hay una chispa entre ellos. Desde ahí Maggie descubre que Caleb es un ser sobrenatural y que de alguna extraña manera ellos son compañeros de alma.
Esta fue una muy interesante y entretenida leída pero mas que todo se me hizo difícil porque lo leí doble, en español y en ingles, porque ciertamente hay algunos términos que uso la autora que en ingles se entienden mejor. Por ejemplo: Significant. De donde viene el nombre del libro, bueno en la traducción es "pareja" y nunca hubiera entendido eso si no lo hubiera leído en ingles.
Maggie es un personaje muy común, la típica chica insegura y con problemas. Y Caleb es perfecto en todas las maneras posibles. Pero tengo este pequeño problema, toda la relación entre Maggie y Caleb se desarrolla a la velocidad de la luz.
La mayoría de los personajes no son personajes que fascinan, sino que la trama de todo el libro te absorbe y entonces cuando te das cuentas te acostumbras a los personajes y los amas, pero no tienen nada demasiado memorable en comparación con la trama.
¿Lo que mas me gusto? Los detalles. Cada parte de este libro estuvo llena de esos pequeños detalles que hacen un libro especial. Todo explicita mente descrito. Los monólogos de Maggie eran increíbles eran como empezaba pensando algo y empezaba a divagar y describir cosas y después lo relacionaba todo con lo que empezó a hablar.

No quieres a la gente por lo que ellos pueden darte. No los quieres por los que ellos hacen por ti o por lo bien que los haces parecer. El amor es ciego, el amor no es para alardear, el amor no es vanidoso

Wow i did not expect to like this as much as i did! Very centered around romance, and seemed almost like a mesh of Colleen Hoover and Jennifer Armentrout! Loved the passion, the characters, the realness of their feelings and desires. All in all, a fantastic story and i will be continuing soon!

This book needed editing. It was too long and they repeated the same conversation over and over again. The characters did not feel real and their personalities would flip on a dime. The dialogue from side characters was stilted. There is a climax and instead of having a good wind down, it just drags on. Also a little too puritanical for my tastes.

I love this book! It has quickly risen to the ranks of my newest comfort book. I love the soulmate trope and I love the characters and the story. Highly recommend!!
