Couldn’t stand any of the characters or anything they did. This was hard work and I have no idea why I put myself through it.

syns den var grei å lese, men var ikke spesielt underholdene hvis det ikke hadde vært for at mine nye romkamerater oppfører seg akkurat som den vennegjengen der (alle skal ligge med hverandre)

This is the first Hemingway book I've read. His a great writer, no doubt. This story didn't really grab me though. I felt like the characters were a bit boring overall.

If it wasn't Hemingway I wouldn't have finished it.

“‘Don’t you love me?’
‘Love you? I simply turn all to jelly when you touch me.’”

“There are people to whom you could not say insulting things. They give you a feeling that the world would be destroyed, would actually be destroyed before your eyes, if you said certain things. But here was Cohn taking it all.”

“‘Oh, Jake,’ Brett said, ‘we could have had such a damned good time together.’
‘Yes.’ I said. ‘Isn’t it pretty to think so?’”
