A sweet, enjoyable book about a socially awkward girl starting college, her outgoing identical twin sister & the fandom they adore. Along the way there’s family drama, new friendships & cute boys.

Definitely a cute and breezy read. I loved the incorporated excerpts of fanfiction and a outside novel. I really like it when books have books inside the novel world. If that makes sense.

I suppose it's my own fault that I didn't like this book: I found all the interludes with the fanfic or the original fic text excruciatingly boring so I didn't read them at all--and then the whole book ends within her fanfic! Clearly there was some deeper meaning there but without having read them to that point, it was lost on me.

I wish something actually happened in the book other than coping with their father--sure, it's about how damaged kids behave differently as ways to cope with the damage, and the father is a key part of that, but thinking back on the book all I can say is nothing _happens_.

Also the main character is so incredibly annoying.

Man was this a good book. It was so innocently adorable and captivating. I loved the development of Cath and Levi, it was a slow burn but not in a boring way. It truly kept you hooked the whole time, and didn’t feel like things were being dragged out. The romance scenes were so beautiful. I love reading scenes that are hot and passionate but aren’t sex scenes. I feel like those are so rare, where the chemistry really leaps off the page and isn’t just a mess of sexual tension. I also love the journey of Cath as a writer, and truthfully wish we got more of that final piece she submitted in addition to the segment of it at the end. The twins relationship was also wonderful to see evolve. They go on this rollercoaster that many college freshmen endure and it was lovely to see them grow as individuals and together.

I spent an entire day reading this book and finished it. This is the most realistic story which is eerily relatable and I loved all of it. I can't wait to read more of her stuff because this was just too much fun.

Fangirl had been on my radar for years but for one reason or another I never picked it up until now. It was a cute read and I was completely invested in Cath and Levi, but found myself zoning out from time to time during the Simon Snow parts.

I listened to the audiobook and found the narration quite enjoyable.

Rainbow Rowell writes well in this, but sometimes the wording is hard to understand, which is irritating. Also the little excerpts she used of Cath's fan fiction were completely unnecessary. It's just a nerdy twist on the boy likes girl, girl doesn't notice him story.

I liked all of the characters, but this book has too many plot similarities to Eleanor and Park.
