I know the book was an allegory for the Russian dictatorships. It’s good, and I can appreciate the historical commentary, however, it was clear the intended audience was much younger than my 18-year-old self. I enjoyed it. Sweet and short, but not particularly written in a style I’d usually go to. I wished for a more conclusive ending, but I suppose again that was an intentional pro of Orwell, leaving the system as broken as the government it was based upon.

I think this was a good book. Have I lost sleep over things that I read in this book-no, however I think that lessons and ideas touched on in this book are extremely relevant. One of them being that knowledge is power, which is a common theme across Orwells books. I think that anyone reading this book can understand that despite the full title Animal Farm: A Fairy Story (that has been changed to not include the last bit), that Orwell is suggesting anything other than a fairy story and leans Into his satirical writing.
