I somehow expected the book titled the Mental Load to be all and only about the mental load, but that was just the first chapter. After that lots more was covered - interesting and also "oh damn"-triggering things.

Some little French details were a bit odd to me, mostly in a "Oh, that's how they do that there. Curious."-way.

The chapter(s) about BS work and UBI would guaranteedly throw certain folks into apoplectic rage, only if those people would read this kind of a book.

A nice introduction to a few different feminist and socialist topics. Lots of it was fundamental, so I wasn't necessarily the target audience. I'd say this would be a good read for teenagers and young adults. I learnt some things about birth (episiomities and that they are rarely actually needed and can exacerbate tearing). I liked her analogy about hijabs and burqas from a European perspective. And I thought she gave a good, clear introduction to bullshit jobs and universal basic income

At least read the first chapter.
A bonus if a male reader decides to read this to understand a woman’s perspective on certain issues or conflicts. The goal is for greater understanding, communication, and collaboration.

Great topics covered but the art style is not for me. This could have been a collection of short stories or essays featuring smaller comics. As half of the story is a cartoon version of herself talking with speech bubbles. Except there are some stories that are best described with illustrations (Adama, the female reproductive system).

Reminder that this is a translated piece from France.

I don't really know what to say beyond that it was very preach-y.

An interesting read that distills many feminist concepts into interesting and easily understandable comics! I liked Emma's tone and drawing style, and I appreciated her passion for this subject and for her activism.
