You know, I thought I would dislike this book because it was yet another "let's not tell each other anything" relationship, but I actually liked this one more than the last few. Sure, Vanessa was lying to Fejo, who didn't deserve it. But things came out sooner than I expected and I actually really liked their relationship. And I LOVED Fejo, more than I expected. All he wanted was for someone to love and cherish him, ugh.

Another fun read from this series with a little more plot development than the other books!

There was more banter in this than the previous few which made the pairing delightful. Moreover, we finally get to the POV of someone who is desperate to go home, which was a nice and more realistic change in perspectives.

The vastness of the worlds adds to the fascination echoed by the other humans; it really is wondrous at times and makes me envious that I’ll never see it in real life.

Another fabulous read in this series, eager to see what’s next!

This series is honestly just junk food in book form in my opinion, and sometimes you just have to have the junk food.
I really enjoy this series, if I don't think too much about some of the world building. I saw another reviewer describe the Clecanian society as a false matriarchy... and I've got to agree. I think there's this really big inconsistency in how we're told that every man in the society have the highest respect for women and is supposed to submit to what they say, versus how the MMC's acts domineering and always pushes the FMC's boundaries. It doesn't fit together. Then there's the whole marriage thing, and how it's the womens duty. I don't think I can express how off-putting it is, and every problem I have with it.
But if I turn my brain off the best that I can, I can enjoy the Jolly Space Pirate!

Well, it's officially! This is my favorite of the series and will be a tough one to beat. Fejo in my head is Henry Cavill in the Witcher but with dark hair mixed with Hook from Once Upon A Time. I really wasn't sure how I would feel about Vanessa's story but it's so amazing and I love their chemistry. I might need to take a break so I can just bask in Fejo's glory for a few days! Whew!
