One of the best uses of multiple narrators I’ve ever read. I can’t think of many fantasy worlds that are as unique and well thought out without borrowing any specific historical outline. Truly wonderful.

N.K. Jemison has created a very unique and interesting world and magic system with this book. It takes a little time to really figure out and understand what is going on and there are 3 different narratives by which you learn about this world. The way this author weaves all three narratives together and the way she develops the story and characters into a totally cohesive unit blew my mind. There is a large amount of details that she sprinkles throughout, but with how engaging the story is it doesn't make it overwhelming as long as you are willing to stick with it. Thank-you N.K. Jemison for such a unique world, I can't wait to continue reading about it in the next book.

Filled with creativity and wonder. Wow, what to say about this book? It's stunning and horrible. It's breathtaking. It's everything you read science fiction for. Ideas and thoughts and going outside the boundaries. Characters and a world that lives and breathes so much authenticity.
