This had shades of A Great and Terrible Beauty, but the whole tone was a lot more true to YA and teenagers than that plodding book, so I enjoyed it a lot more. I'd read future books in the series, sure!

Sabía que debería alejarme, pero no podía dejar de escuchar. Me pregunto por qué es que siempre queremos escuchar a la gente hablar de nosotros, incluso si son cosas horribles.

I am a huge fan of witches, whether it be in books or movies or TV shows. My favorite witch-y show was Bewitched. So when I won this book through a giveaway, I was super excited to read it because I hadn't read a witch book in quite some time. I've always wanted to be a witch. Where I could just snap my fingers and manifest anything that I ever wanted. You know like Sabrina or Samantha (from Bewitched). So, you can tell that I was really excited to read this book and thankfully, the excitement never ended.

So why did I love this book so much, you ask? Well, for one, witches. However, I liked the characters, the plot, the writing, and so much more.

I absolutely fell in love with the main character, Sophia Mercer. She is very relatable and humorous (whether she says something funny or she does something that you just cannot help but to laugh at). This book had me laughing a lot because of the quick-witted remarks. I love that about books. I also have to say that I am definitely on Team Archer. The romance within this series has potential. I am looking forward to what Rachel Hawkins will write next.

This book had me so enthralled that I read it in basically a day and the second I finished it, I had to go and by the second book. This book was a bit predictable, yet, not to where the ending completely threw me. This is a wonderfully written, fast paced, and easy read. Hex Hall has a little bit of everything in it-- mystery, love, heartache, friendship, finding self, humor, family and their issues, etc. It is definitely worth it to pick this book up and get an exciting and enchanting dose of bewitchment.

This was a great read. It was fun, light-hearted and hilarious.

I absolutely loved the characters, Jenna especially. She was just someone I would love to be friends with. Sophie was funny and sarcastic, Archer was irresistibly hot and, dare I say sexy. Although I found Cal kind of creepy. Dunno why though.

The story had a lot of depth and kept me guessing throughout the entire book. It was difficult to gauge who the bad guy was going to be.
Spoiler When it was revealed that Archer was working for The Eye, I was completely thrown off. It was something I did not expect. Although I must say, it was a nice twist.

This is the kind of book that it perfect to get you out of a reading slum or after you have read a long series you have been emotionally involved with (a.k.a The Mortal Instruments).

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cannot wait to finish the rest of the trilogy.

I really ended up enjoying this book. When I first started reading I thought it was going to be hard for me to get through when I started feeling that some of the writing just wasn't as great as other things I have read. I stuck with it and it became much better for me. It was much like your typical high school dramas but with magic and other parts of the supernatural world throw in. I really like the way Sophie handles herself and situations and the way her friendship is with Jenna. I adored the way Sophie and archer were together. I sooooo hope to see more of Archer and Sophie very soon in the next book. I will be very sad and disappointed if that doesn't happen.

I think I liked this book so much because I read it after the thoroughly mediocre The Mark. But it was still fun YA fantasy, with a sarcastic heroine, which is precisely what I want out escapist fiction.
