Still such clever writing with amusing jokes and lovely metaphors. Some of the detailed stuff about her students and what they imagine was just too much and not to my taste though. I’d have preferred more on the live stories of Anne and Diana.

A cute sequel to Anne of Green Gables, but it felt much like a second book in a trilogy or longer series, where the story is necessary to get to future events but isn't as particularly interesting. At the end of the first book, Anne gives up her scholarship to college and forms a friendship with Gilbert.
Often this book hints at her going to college in the future or a future relationship with Gilbert, but both points are where the book ends.
However "second-bookish" this feels, Anne still gets into plenty of scrapes with her friends and neighbors, for those who enjoy her escapades.

Anne is imaginative and childish but very lovable and means well. I wasn’t a big fan of the kids in the book. Davy annoyed me and Paul was too “perfect”.
