I would give 4 stars if it weren't for the first 100 pages where there was a lot of talk and not much action. It was often said "I'm the best and so powerful" but not so much action to back it up. I liked the first book better with drama and betrayal whereas it was a bit softer this time and not so surprising but it was still entertaining and set a nice messed up scene for the rest of the series

I really enjoyed this book. It was good in a way that made me hate some of the main  characters but that’s what made it more realistic. I’m tired of heroines and heroes being displayed as absolutely perfect. They are literally murdering people. This is a 17-year-old child pushed into horrible circumstances. How do people expect she should act? Did some of her actions and others annoy me to no end? Yes, but that makes it more like real life. She’s a child just trying to save people while navigating or, more accurately, avoiding her trauma.

This was a really good sequel. A lot of series suffer from “second book syndrome” of just being boring and not useful.
Holy hell this was not it. I was tense the entire time. It was brutal, it was violent, it was bloody. Loved it
