Just as fun as when I read it when I was 10 years old :)

Great books. Easy enough for young readers yet entertaining enough for me! I read them once myself and then read them out loud to Jimmy recently. He liked them too.

These are short, quick reads, and I really enjoyed them. Good stories, cool illustrations.

I read them at the same time as I was reading the Series of Unfortunate Events, and I liked this series more.

This was engaging and enthralling despite being aimed at a way younger age group. I missed out on these books growing up but still caught the magic and wonder in reading them.
I love the illustrations a ridiculous amount.
I love how the characters are realistic in the way they hold trauma, grudges and other emotions. That really added to how enjoyable the books were.

I've read this book in french and it was wonderful. The movie isn't even close to the book.
It has a great story and I loved to watch the relationship between the siblings. I really enjoyed reading it and I couldn't take it down.

Even more delightful to rediscover as an adult than it was to read as a child. Each installment is only about 100-150 pages long and broken up with frequent illustrations, making this a good selection for an early reader just beyond "chapter books." Black and DiTerlizzi perfectly scale up the magic and conflict with each book to create an immersive and enchanting experience, while subtly touching on children's mental health and coping with parental divorce. There are also light horror elements.

I absolutely adored the fantastical world described in this book which thrives alongside our own full of the mystical and the terrifying. The Grace children were all very unique and likeable and i thoroughly enjoyed travelling along with their journey.
Tony Diterlizzi's illustrations were absolutely amazing and definitely added perfectly to the story, i particularly loved the drawings of Mallory in the fairytale style dress, even though I'm sure she didnt approve!
The drawings in the back of the book were fascinating to flick through.
I absolutely adore this edition of the book, it's beautiful and if you're thinking of reading the series then definitely get this edition!

Although I throughly enjoyed the book, it didn't quite have the 'wow' factor so I can't justify giving it more than 3.5 stars! I love the world which Holly and Tony so masterfully crafted.
