Funny, but...

I’m torn about how to rate this book. It was, of course, great writing and a great, funny story. However, in my opinion, there was a little too much 13 year old boy happenings.

The Mother Road is about a father and his two children who want to complete a road trip planned by their late mother in order to honor her memory. On the road trip, mishap after mishap befalls the family and hilarity ensues.

It's actually the hilarity that kept me from giving this book 5 stars. I usually love Meghan Quinn's humor, but it was unusually juvenile in this book. It seemed like she asked a couple of drunk frat guys to write the jokes and then developed the plot around them. It was too much at times.

The saving grace, however, were the heartfelt moments interspersed with the bizarrely juvenile humor. I choked up a few times and loved the letters the deceased mother left for her daughter and the MMC. They made this momma's heart break and mend all at the same time.

And this was me while reading this book from the 1st page to the last

Freaking hysterical!

If you haven't read Meghan Quinn yet, What the heck are you waiting for??? Go 1 click!

The Mother Road was a freaking fantastic book trip!  It is a combo of National Lampoon & Friends wrapped up in a bun w/spicy mustard on top that gives it the ultimate kick!

I fell in love with everything in this book:

The humor, the fantastic dialogue between all the characters, the hot romance that had me wanting me to go on a road trip and find my own Porter.

Porter: hunky bearded man who Marley has had a major crush on since childhood.  He is sexy, funny, manly & totally making Marley as mess on this trip.

Marley: She is my BFF! Funny, let LA lifestyle rub off on her but her inner farm girl comes out and starts to come back to her while taking this trip with her dad & brother Paul & Porter.

I could not get enough of this book.  It kept me entertained and Ioved how the story just flowed easily and had me guessing what had went wrong with Marley & Porter that made their  road trip from tense to...

Well you will have to read to find out what happens with them.

Oh & hot dogs!! I want a damn hot dog with mustard and toasted bun!

I now want to go get myself a Polaroid Camera too again and go on a road trip w/my bestie

Take the ride & go 1 click this book & read it because it seriously is the funniest book you will read this year.
