Perfect always takes so long because it don't exist

As always with James Acaster's books, I recommend the audio version. So funny I hurt my ribs laughing. Big thanks to the person on Spotify who compiled all the albums mentioned into a playlist so I have a wonderful 70+ hours of new music to listen to easily

reading the reviews here is so funny because some readers got bored by the music recs while others got bored by acasters personal stories. for me it was a delightful mix and the narration had an incredible common theme, connecting the musicians lives with his  his own. i‘d recommend the audiobook because it feels almost like a routine with some very detailed yapping about music in between (i <3 it)

I LOVE James Acaster and got this book in a 99p sale. James writes very passionately about the music he discovered in 2016 and I can appreciate that but the topic did not interest me very much. I kept reading because the life story between music anecdotes was interesting, honest and always very funny. Would've given lower star rating but I knew I wasn't interested in the topic when I started the book. Would be interested in reading his other books (also helps that I read everything in his very distinctive voice in my head!)

A book by a comedian that starts from the premise that 2016 is best year for music of all time had no right to be as emotional of a ride as it is. I have discovered so many good artists and albums as a result of this book and I owe James Acaster a drink for that reason.
