Fox and Owen's romance had plenty of steam, but I wasn't a huge fan of the overall storyline. On the one hand, I have to give credit to the author for writing a completely unique spin on a best-friend's-brother romance, it just didn't mesh with my personal tastes. It was fun for me to watch as Owen and Fox fell into a string of not-so-casual hookups, and I was a big fan of how nasty they got in the bedroom. If the rest of the story had the same passion and chemistry as their nights together, I would have been over the moon. Unfortunately, there was something that just felt off about the rest of the journey, and I can't even put my finger on what it was. Owen's work story arc was just okay, and not even Fox's much more high-stakes career instability swayed me. I wasn't thrilled by the way the situation with Reggie played out, and overall I just couldn't get as invested as I wanted to in Owen and Fox's happiness.

**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

This was a really sweet brother's best friend romance. Owen was this sweet guy who was looking to expand his dating life after getting his Ph.D. Fox was his long-time crush and after a cute but embarrassing meet cute, Fox couldn't stay away from Owen. There was a lot of steam and big emotions as Fox showed his soft side. A really enjoyable book.

Fox and Owen’s story definitely lives up to the title - it’s a little bit filthy and a little bit sweet. Filthy Sweet is an easy read; I blew through it quickly, but I didn’t feel like I was invested in their story as much as I could have been.

Owen is moving to Seattle to start a new job, ready to explore a new side of himself and finally be open about his sexuality. He’s so sweet, extremely intelligent and dedicated to his career, but he’s been so dedicated to getting to where he is today that he hasn’t had much fun. After an unfortunate picture hits Instagram, he finds himself getting really cozy with his brother’s best friend, Fox, who he’s had a crush on since childhood. Fox is a famous music executive who has been caught in more than one questionable situation. He’s running from his past and doing everything in his power to make sure it doesn’t catch up with him. While he puts up a tough exterior, he’s really a sweet guy underneath it all, but doesn’t feel like he deserves his happiness (at least not yet).

Owen and Fox start a fake relationship to help improve Fox’s image. But, somewhere along the way, it becomes more...more intimate, more complicated, more everything. Once they start to open up to each other, their relationship really starts to flourish and grow. But, I felt like there was something missing from their relationship...it was really sweet, a little filthy and maybe a little too easy? I’m not sure what was missing, but I wanted more from them.

I also wanted more between them and Reggie - he felt like a plot device more than a real character a lot of the time when he could have been a big part of the story. Overall this was a good read, but I just didn’t love it.

Cute!!! My favorite part by far was when they went to the museum together and I love how they’re just 2 big nerds and perfect for each other. Also 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Filthy Sweet was an amazing book filled with some of my favorite tropes. I absolutely fell in love with Fox & Owen immediately, as well as with Reggie who makes the best side character. The book flowed well, and I didn't want to put it down. This was a great read, and I highly recommend it.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily gave my honest review.

Another great book by a wonderful author. I loved this story, it was well written and easy to read. I'm a big fan of the best-friends-brother and fake relationship books and this one was a really good one that I would recommend.

The title paints a pretty accurate picture for the story.
Fox and Owen are indeed sweet and filthy. A well-known bad boy and a naughty geek come together and their fantasies come true (even the fantasies that didn't know they had).
I didn't love the book but I would read other books from this author.

I love it when along with the blurb there is this part:
"Filthy Sweet is a standalone M/M romance with a naughty geek, a secretly sweet bad boy, and a dash of a fake relationship. It features forbidden, best-friend’s-brother steam, dirty talk, and ongoing confusion about a pair of panties."

Thank you to @gayromancereviews for the ARC!
