This book!! It was everything!!

I love the twist this gave a single mom, small town romance!
Elena was forced to marry a leader in the mafia when she was just a teenager... and since then she has lived a life filled abuse, neglect, pain, and even has been forced to take on a role she never would have wanted....
Frank was her best friend when they were children... but he left when she was young, and was not there to protect her from all the horrible things that happened after. Even though, had he known, he would have done everything he could to protect her.
Now years later - she thinks he is dead (as does the whole world) and he thinks she married someone else because she wanted to...
Until one night she shows up at the house outside a small town in Maine with her 2 children... clearly running from something, and having no idea she would be running right in to him.
They are now sharing a home, and he is doing all he can to wear down her walls.... but will it work, as they truly learn who they are now and the things they have hidden since they were both kids.

I lovedddddd Frank so much. He is book boyfriend PERFECTION!! I love how he loved her kids and fought for their trust as well as hers! I loved Ellie so much, and the strength she showed... but thenthe ways she allowed herself ot feel safe enough to let go once with Frank. I love the twists and the things we don't see coming. Truly - I ate this whole story up beginning to end!

I was fortunate enough to Beta read this book, because the author wanted to know that it could be read well as a standalone, without having read the books that have characters mentioned in here. And I can confirm - you 100% can. I felt completely capable of following along and understanding what I needed to from past stories I hadnt read, and in the end this was truly about Frank and Elena's story!

DNF at 50%. I just couldn’t get into it. I felt there was no chemistry. The plot was confusing. Might come back to it later.

Loved it! Would have been 5 stars if there was a little more suspense. I wanted a little more action. Like a kidnapping or something.

Plot was good! He’s hunting a serial killer.. she is one.. but the reason they both have are what make the plot so good!

As always.. if you wrote kids.. they need to be good and Leo and Lorenzo are so dang good. Leo is such a cutie!! Loved the kids!

FRANK!! We have all been waiting to hear what happened to our Irish man!!!
Well Britt did not disappoint!
When I first started reading I had to keep checking to make sure it was Brittanee's book. This writing is different then her usual, but not in a bad way! It just shows how talented Brittanee is.
I loved the Mafia, and slightly dark aspects brought in to Frank's story.
Frank and Ellie's love story is wrapped up with a pretty green bow and I can't wait for the rest of the world to read it!

this felt like 2 different stories, the love story between Frank and Ellie and then a mafia story sometimes... the love story was great and there were a lot of sweet moments. There was a lot of jumping around in odd places too. The quick switch from Ellie hating Frank to then falling for him was wild.
