Overall I enjoyed the book. I especially loved the scenes between Elizabeth and Calvin, they were so fun to read.
Though there were many pov's which I think were not needed, such as the dog. I love dogs, but I kept forgetting six thirty was a dog, and it kept us from seeing any character development with Elizabeth, because she really did not change much at all.
This book does go very dark at points but then it seems to brush a lot of those points off, as if they were there to tick something off a list and not delve into them a little deeper and how they impact the characters.
There are some other issues which you can read in other 1-3⭐ reviews which I think are more articulate than I could describe.

(Audiobook) So many things to say! I found the idea interesting- but the characters were so bland and static.
Elizabeth is a scientist! This means she is a robot and will tell everyone that she’s a scientist 40x. We get it!!!!
Also, there were so many different subplots. I found the book overall tried too hard to hammer in the same ideas over and over again.

This book was beautiful, I was hooked right away. There is a need for a suspension of belief for the daughter and dog POV, but the characters were so lovable it was easy to believe that the four year old acted like an adult. I picked up the book from clips of the apple tv show and expected the show in the book to be a main point, but it really was not. It was about walking through life with Elizabeth Zott as she works to be taken seriously as a chemist while keeping true to herself.
Minor: Sexual assault
