I wish I had this in Absolute. Not having read much of Snyder's New 52 run, I got this just to see if it would tempt me to revisit Court of the Owls et al. I connect with Dick Grayson and LOVE his Nightwing. So to see his character expounded here under the Black Cowl of Batman, was a true delight; to see him ask for permission before he enters someone's home, to still be there when Commissioner Gordon turns back around, and yet be intimidating in a whole new way is not only what I wanted in a Grayson/Batman book, but it also manages to be what the book is ABOUT. His softness is his downfall as Batman, but his strength as Nightwing. An excellent book but you will have more enjoyment if you know Dick Grayson and the Robins reasonably well.

I was really excited to read this but mildly disappointed. One, I didn't like the art work, sorry but it wasn't for me. I also though the storyline was a bit poor. I also don't like Dick Grayson as Batman so that didn't help much either!

There were interesting moments but alas there weren't enough; I wanted more exploration of the serum used to create Killer Croc, I felt the Joker was thrown in because it seems the Joker has to be everywhere no matter what with Gotham and quite frankly I didn't find James Gordon all that scary as a criminal mastermind psychopath.

Superb writing. Great art. Deep character exploration and emotion.

Took me a while to finish this because of work, but when I finally put some time in WOW this was AMAZING! The illustrations and colors really pop! Each story had it's unique way of conjuring up the feeling of wickedness.

I believe this was the first big arc that Scott Snyder did involving Batman and it rates right up there with the "court of owls" arc in terms of quality. The reveal of the villain in Black Mirror was great, hopefully that character will surface again at some point.
