I enjoyed finishing this duet but didn't enjoy the story as much as the first book. The FMC was a bit repetitive about "how she's never gonna be the same after this situation" and it was annoying. I loved the relationship though between all the characters and the found family aspect! It was a bit confusing switching from past and present timelines when there was no indication, it just switched. Once I knew it was going to time jump like this, it was easier to follow but still confusing at times. I loved the FMC more when she started to embrace her family history instead of being mad or frustrated for not understanding things. The nightmare talk, I understood it was PTSD from what happened in the first book but it felt unnecessary and I feel like it didn't add to the story and it seemed to come out of nowhere, with no lead up or cause.

4.25 stars. Great sequel that just didn’t hit quiiiiite as hard as the first book. I’d read more of this series if there ever are any. I think I just preferred the boarding school/closed door aspects of Killing November better. Nonetheless, very entertaining.

I'm so happy, it was a nice ending but I'm also very very ticked off >:(

Après un moment pour me mettre dans l'histoire, j'ai passé un moment entraînant dans ce roman YA. Un bon moment de lecture
