The overall premise of the story feels a bit weird to me, but Thompson continues to show herself as a strong writer and Casagrande's art is excellent all the way through. Add in Hawkeye and Bucky sitting in the bushes for a stakeout, and an excitingly well-delivered climax, and there are definitely plenty of things to enjoy in this new Black Widow adventure.

I enjoyed the art in this (but the main art moreso than the flashback art), as well as the emotional impact of this one and the focus on relationships. It might not tug at the heartstrings as much if the reader is unfamiliar with Natasha's friendships with Bucky, Clint, and Yelena.

Seeing Natasha Romanoff vulnerable is..new. What's newer still is seeing her happy and unburdened with a husband and son she completely adores. I had a great time reading this, everything about it is brilliant - from the artwork and writing to the action sequences that left me gaping at my laptop. I love that her friends (Clint and Bucky!) and her sister have her back even when she's been brainwashed into forgetting who they are. And despite the fact that we watch Nat lose so much yet again, there's something hopeful about the fact that there are still people in her life who she can trust to hold her while she cries.
