Another hot and steamy story in the King-Kincaid saga. Warning: This does end with a cliffhanger. This book features Weston King and Elizabeth Dyson. (Both have roles in the Filthy Rich Boys series... his more predominate than hers.) The timeline overlaps that series as well, so if you are familiar with those books, you'll see some of the same scenes, just from a different person's perspective. Though you do not need to read those to follow this book.

This is a fake fiance' story. She needs to be married to claim ownership of her deceased father's company. So she is offered a husband in exchange for a portion of the company once she gains ownership. Everything is fake, for show only, until it isn't. There are a couple unexpected twists, at the end, of course, leaving us with the cliffhanger.

The story is very sexy and passion filled. Plenty of sexual tension between the characters. It is a more serious read. Not dark, but heavier. The characters are smart and strong, though emotionally vulnerable. Definitely meant for mature readers.

*I volunteered to review an ARC of this book.

Laurelin Paige is fast becoming one of my go-to authors for really good contemporary romance ever since reading Porn Star (which she co-wrote with Sierra Simone) last year, and then reading a couple of her solo works. I haven't delved into her older stuff and I had hoped to read Dirty Filthy Rich Men and Dirty Filthy Rich Love prior to reading Dirty Sexy Player but alas I couldn't find the time.

Dirty Sexy Player is a spin-off of Dirty Filthy Rich Men and Dirty Filthy Rich Love duo and, from what I could tell, the both books occur in the same timeline. But, Dirty Sexy Player was the story of Weston King, Mr. Dirty Sexy Player himself, and rich girl Elizabeth Dyson, who needed a husband to inherit her late father's company sooner rather than when she's 29.

Wes and Elizabeth have to sell their fake engagement like it's 100% real and that's easier said than done because the two of them don't exactly get along. They also decided that sex is off the table so as not to make things complicated, but for a player like Wes, a sex drought goes against his nature. It doesn't help that his sexy and smart though very frustrating fake fiancee gives him boner every time she's near.

I knew I was going to enjoy Dirty Sexy Player and I was right. Ms. Paige delivered a brilliant, sexy, and deliciously dirty fake engagement story. Weston was a lot of fun--he's flirty and charming and even though he's a total ladies man he's very likable. Elizabeth was more reserved and was trying to prove, especially to herself, that she's capable of taking over her father's company. There was a lot of bickering between Wes and Elizabeth and goading each other. Sometimes it's fun because it's laced with sexual attraction, but other times I just wanted to reach in and shake the two of them. Also, constant uncertainty about each other and themselves plague this couple, but I enjoyed the push and pull of Wes and Elizabeth's relationship for the most part.

The story ended in a bit of a cliff-hanger, but book 2 will be out in November so not too long of a wait. I am every excited to get my hands on it and read Wes and Elizabeth's HEA. If you're a fan of Dirty Filthy Rich Men and Dirty Filthy Rich Love you need to read Weston King's story. But, you don't need to read those books to enjoy Dirty Sexy Player as it stands very much on its own--if you're looking for a fun and sexy fake engagement story, pick up Dirty Sexy Player.

Dirty Sexy Player is the first book of the Dirty Games duet and a spin-off of Dirty Filthy Rich Men. This is Weston and Elizabeth's story! It's available in audio first and I love a good audiobook. I also love these narrators so I had to get my hands and ears on this one. We knew the basic information about Weston and Elizabeth and their set up marriage as a way to save her company and get Donovan and Weston something they need. But this is the back story. The full story. Every detail of how they met until the crazy cliffhanger! Yes, people, it's a duet, so this isn't the end. I knew Weston's story was going to be fun and sexy, but I didn't expect him to be so jerky! But I never not loved him. He was being a jerk and he knew it, but he didn't know what else to do. He had plans and they didn't include being attracted to your fake bride. Somewhere along the way his feelings went from just wanting to bed her to wanting to actually be with her. Talk, share a meal, watch tv. That is not Weston. He doesn't do that with women and it had his head all messed up. Elizabeth is nothing like I thought she'd be. She's feisty, speaks her mind and isn't going to let Weston treat her like every other woman he's been with. Yes, it's a fake marriage, but she's still a real person. I loved watching these two fight, banter, throw insults and then give in. I especially loved listening to Jacob Morgan and Elena Wolfe bring these characters to life. It's a very different experience to listen to an audiobook before you've read the story and I loved it. It's not going to be easy to wait until November for the conclusion!

Found this duet a much better read than Sabrina & Donovan’s story.
I also liked how the timeline is the same time as Sabrina & Donovan’s books as most often series of the same friend group often go after one another. So there was more insight into Sabrina & Donovan’s story in this book as well as the pieces of Weston & Elizabeth in the Dirty Filthy Rich Men duet made more sense.

I love a good enemies to lovers, and the banter in the first book was great. It’s written in dual POV so we get to see how flustered and confused Weston gets when he starts getting feelings for Elizabeth.

I don’t like the plot twist, but I understood why it was essential for the story - although I must say the story was neatly ended and the ending felt flat for me. But okay, i liked it better than Elizabeth sacrificing her dreams just to be with Weston.

Hot, sexy couple!! If you like enemies to friends type romance, this is for you! Also, fake marriage! This is a spin off character from Dirty Filthy Rich Men but you don't have to have read that first. I recommend it though, along with all of Laurelin's books! Lots of sexual tension between Weston and Elizabeth!

WOW!!! Dirty Sexy Player was so much more than I ever imagined!!

We met Weston and Elizabeth in the previous “Dirty” books and I was intrigued by their story and what exactly was going on between them. I thought for sure in the earlier books that Weston would end up with someone else so I was quite shocked when Elizabeth came into the picture!

Weston and Elizabeth don’t like each other. AT ALL. The constant arguing, snide comments, bickering...you totally get that they hate each other but you also know there is massive sexual tension between the two. The sparks fly, in more ways than one, between Weston and Elizabeth!

I loved everything about this book, there were so many emotions on each and every single page! Anger, hate, sexiness, intrigue, laughter, all of it...and a plot twist I never saw coming a mile away! I can’t wait for the conclusion!
