Meg Mason’s writing is perfect. She has such a way with words. She also painted the most accurate portrait possible of my life with a baby. I started underlining the bits that really resonated, but had to stop because I was just underlining half the book.

I enjoyed this book but I didn't love it. I appreciated how raw Mason was in the retelling of her experiences of new motherhood but at times it did feel like she was wound a bit tight and was harder to relate to.
The parts around finding your tribe and having to return back to work were vulnerable which I valued. Mason also has a smart sense of humour (most of the time) which is fun.

Absolutely adore Meg Mason's writing, such an intense and honest account of her experience with motherhood. Definitely confirmed I am not ready for kids yet.

I started this in late January so it’s safe to say I struggled. Not so much the book or writing but just not able to engage with it.
