Alexander just knew it was going to be a horrible day when he woke up. He just wants to move to Timbuktu.

Daddy didn't like this book. It wasn't remarkable and we found it rather negative. While there is a message of how everyone has horrible days no matter where you live there was no positive focus.

We borrowed this book from the local library.

Not amongst my favourite kids' books, perhaps just because I didn't read it as a child, so there's no nostalgia factor. It's nice getting to see a child's perspective here, though. Reminder of how easy it is to ruin their days.

This was my favorite book growing up. And still is. I read it the other day and it brought back all those memories. Sometimes we have bad days. It's just what happens. But we get over it. We move on. The next day will be better.

Alexander wakes up and throughout the rest of the day, everything that can go wrong, does go wrong

I probably enjoy the "Alexander" books so much because I can relate to his pessimistic attitude.
