What can I say, I’m a sucker for a Greek myth retelling

Finished on the couch during some TOIL.
I struggled with the start and end with the book, just didn't really care as much but the middle section with the Argonauts was engaging. A good train book which is what I used it for.

I feel like it could’ve done more - surface level retelling without significant emotion or pull to the characters.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!
Atalanta by Jennifer Saint was a fun and beautiful read. I loved how Saint weaves together Atalanta's story. The writing was magical and had me enthralled. The world of gods and monsters felt real, like I could reach out and feel Artemis’s tunic or a rough oar of the Argo.
I adored how Atalanta was written with her strength and stubbornness. Atalanta did not let anyone tell her what to do! Her bluntness was delectable. Atalanta was a wonderful and hilarious narrator.
This is definitely one of my favorite books of 2023!
Random note: the audiobook narrator did an amazing job! Their voice was perfect.

I genuinely loved this one. It’s a fun and easy read and yeah maybe not all feminist retelling of myths needs to be a tragedy. Maybe it can actually end with the heroine happy for once.
