This book is awesome! Book two in the Magisterium series, it takes off where the first book ends with Call looking forward to starting his second year at the prestigious school for mages, and to spend the year with his friends - Aaron and Tamara. But, trouble is afoot as someone has attempted to steal the Alkahest, a magical gauntlet that can kill chaos-wielders. And of course, it's up to our trio to save the day!
This book was very fast-paced with so many twists and turns, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I adored the character development and the plot structure; unique and fantastic, it was a delight to read. Every chapter offered something more to the plot and I was hooked.
Can't wait to read the rest of the series and see where it goes!

The beginning is very very familiar but the rest of the story is quite good and not so predictable. The character development depends, the overarching plot points start to stand out and it's well written. And still much better than Harry Potter for kids!

Not as amazing as the first one was but still hecka good :D

And Alastair still confuses the heck out of me, in the beginning he was all "must trap the child, MUST KILL THE CHILD, YOU MUST NOT LEAVE CHILD" and now he's all "my son"

Still really enjoying this series and its core dilemma. I’m looking forward to Book 3 so that says a lot about the overall arc of the story. I’m also enjoying the main character, Call, definitely a bit of an oddball.
Will definitely be getting the HP and PJ lovers at our school onto the series next.
