I’m sobbing! This story really followed through well, and my heart hurts so much, but all of it was worth the pain! ~ This story follows the average 'the villainess died a terrible death but awakes in the past' troupe that so many of us are used to at this point. However, it follows through well, and teaches the lesson that no matter your ultimate outcome, it is always better to treat others with love and civility, "It is better to love, than to never have loved at all," as the famous quote says. The one of the larger reasons why I couldn't give this beautiful piece five stars was due to its very abrupt ending. I felt like the story could have been played out a little bit longer. In addition, the epilogues left the readers with a lot of questions and no answers for them. Like what happened to all of the children ultimately? Did her son still follow through with his marriage? All of these questions were ultimately left unanswered.

Edit: The epilogues, I've forgotten how heartbreaking they were. Excited for season 2 though!
As they say second time's the charm and this certainly applies to A Stepmother's Marchen.
When I first read it I was quite confused but reading it again has made me realise how realistic it is in terms of the depiction of the family. I love how the author portrayed the kids as you guess it kids - messy, annoying and tedious. Now that I've read it, I have noticed that a common theme amongst fictional families is that they are all coldhearted and have no sort of spark in them at all.
You cannot read this without commenting on the art. In all honesty, this series makes it into my top 3 favourite manhwa art styles alongside Death Is The Only Ending For The Villainess and the later seasons of Doctor Elise. None of the panels are wasted on filler and the use of humour is well executed. The clothing is phenomenal and very accurate to it's time period of 1800s Germany that I appreciate being a clothing aficionado. Shading and colouring is well done too.
