I read this because of a review I saw that made this book seem quite ridiculous and unhinged. Given that, I didn’t expect much from this book, but I did actually end up enjoying it. It may be that I’ve just read too much “trashy”, smutty romance lately, but this just seemed to be par for the course for those kind of books. I actually thought the writing was better than a lot of books in this genre. I also thought the concept was unique and the story was fun. Do I feel the need to read the rest of the books in the series right this moment? Not necessarily, but I wouldn’t roll rule it out for some easy, fun reads in the future.

This is a love story between a ghost and a vampire. So they do start with a bit of a disadvantage in the story.

Conrad Wroth has gone to the dark side, draining others to death he has absorbed their memories and has gone pretty mad. His brothers decide that they're going to try a desperate attempt to bring him back from this brink. When he starts talking about a beautiful ghost talking to him both he and they are convinced that it's another part of his madness.

Neomi Laress became a phantom when she was killed by her jealous lover. She's used to being invisible to people and ignored by them except when she uses her telekenesis to move things. She finds Conrad interesting, and participates in his healing. They find love along the path of healing.

I liked Neomi, sassy and clever and bitter about being adrift in a world where she really can't do anything to people she's desperate to be physical. There's nothing particularly surprising in this but I found it a fun read.

I'll say 2.5 for this one. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't much of anything for me. I liked the dealings between all the 4 brothers, and I am quite fond of Conrad the MMC. He was quite lovable. The storyline was pretty meh for me, there was conflict but it seemed pretty surface level & simply resolved stuff. I liked the FMC, Néomi, as well, although there were a few times where I felt that her communication skills left something to be desired. I don't have too much else to say about this except that it did make me look forward to the other characters' stories in this series yet to come, since so many of them showed up in this book.

Néomi & Conrad are my FAVORITE IAD couple. I love how she slowly starts to pull Conrad from his madness and he tries so hard for her because he wants to be good for her.
