I've got to say that this book was a lot more enjoyable than the first, although I still am not much of a fan of fairies and this specific writting style. It was fun, and i think that's the most important part.

Wonderfully Delicious!! This book was like watching a chess match but, 10 times more entertaining and intriguing. Jude the Queen protecting the King like in chess as the most valuable piece in the game, bow down to the queen. Cardan the king behind the queen, all hail the King and what I love most about their relationship is like chess they dominate everyone else except each other. They will power against their enemy in such a cunning way no one ever sees it coming. Yet they cannot ever checkmate it each other. That cliff hanger was the perfect checkmate move and I can't wait to see Jude embrace her profound power and long may she reign.

imo i liked this book a bit more than the first because the plot builds a lot more but I still really enjoyed the first as much as this
its more fast paced and delves deeper into the politics of faerie which i enjoyed even as i reread it and picked up some things i completely forgot about which did surprise me - the plot twists such as taryn and cardan both tricking and betraying jude
the ending was rly good liked the cliff hanger
song that reminds me of jude and cardans relationship is shameless by camilla cabello
